A forever lover of movement, Jacklyn’s relationship with mind-body awareness came first through years as a competitive gymnast. When that chapter closed, she found yoga and began a dedicated vinyasa practice after moving to Brooklyn in 2016. Quickly falling in love with the practice and its ability to shift perspective and deepen awareness, she decided to continue her education through teacher training. She received a 200 and 300-hour RYT certificate from Yoga Vida and has been teaching in the city since 2019. Jacklyn feels most like herself when practicing and teaching yoga. She weaves all that inspires her into her classes, most often Ashtanga based sequences, pranayama, restorative shapes, and Buddhist philosophies. She’s extremely grateful to the teachers and community of The Shala who are a continuous inspiration. When she’s not practicing at The Shala, she enjoys baking pies, biking around Brooklyn, and frequenting New York’s music and film scenes.
