Tam Green

Tam is a yoga instructor, runner, and writes poetry living in Bronx, NY.  She found herself deeply involved in her curiosity of her spiritual development a little over 15 years ago. She has embodied a long history of competitive sport from basketball, soccer and long distance running. Yoga found its way into her life right as these chapters were closing. Tam then began to question who she was without them. Steadily showing up to various vinyasa classes in her community in Detroit, MI, she took a Led Ashtanga class in 2011. She soon found herself creating an intimate relationship with Mysore. The fruits of Ashtanga for her offer a cross pollination of discipline, insight, delicate resilience and deep self love. She is devoted to continuing her studies in the Mysore tradition under her guru Maria Rubinate. Tam is dedicated to daily meditation, learning the Dharma and yoga philosophy. She plans to also become certified in trauma informed yoga therapy  working with people who are currently incarcerated and victims of domestic violence. Tam is a 2025 graduate of The Shala’s 200 hour Teacher Training under Barbara Verrochi and Krisitin Leigh.
