Julianna Takacs

Julianna Takacs has been a student and teacher of yoga & meditation for over 20 years. For fifteen years Julianna was based in NYC leading classes and teacher trainings, primarily at The Shala in Manhattan and Greenhouse Holistic in Brooklyn. Her primary yoga studies have been in Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Prana, receiving her certification from the New York Open Center in 2004, as well as the study of meditation and Sufism in the tradition of Hazrat Inayat Khan since 2002. In 2011 Julianna founded the Yoga Hoedown, a multi-day yoga and music festival in Upstate NY that hosted 150 people every Labor Day weekend through 2016. From 2015 – 2017 Julianna served as faculty at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY for their accredited course in Yoga for Wellness and was featured in Time Out NY several years in a row as one of NYC’s top yoga classes. After moving to New Mexico in 2018 to help open a retreat center north of Santa Fe, Julianna now lives and teaches in Peterborough, NH. Julianna’s classes aim to offer clarity and focus through steady attention on the breath. Mindful movement, thoughtful sequencing, and carefully articulated guidance are woven with meditation, yogic philosophy and classical Sanskrit chanting. Her hope is for students to leave a class with a bit more quiet and personal ease. More info at www.juliannayoga.com
