Hands-on Assists Workshop: Assists as Communication

June 1, 2-3:30 pm
$28 or class cards
The Shala Ft. Greene

Hands-on assists play an important role in supporting students in yoga classes and in an overall deepening experience of the practice. Physical assists can communicate essential alignment details that words sometimes cannot convey. In this experiential workshop, Kristin and Domenick will offer an approach to assisting as a form of communication between teacher and student – grounded in awareness, respect and clarity.

Participants will gain useful tools and techniques to confidently provide physical adjustments. We will explore considerations for how to choose and implement appropriate assists in a way that supports each student’s unique body and experience. This workshop is open to those who have completed a 200/300-hour yoga teacher training and long time practitioners who are interested in deepening their personal practice.
