The winter solstice is viewed in many traditions as a moment of perfect balance. It is both the deep inward stillness and the beginning of the journey towards light. As we honor the planting of the seed of summer, we reckon with our own inner struggles and many journeys. it is a perfect time to set an intention for the new year and to synchronize your own life’s rhythm with nature’s.
This will be a slow, steady, deep and meditative practice. Long form asana flow, qigong, and 8 dedications based on the 8 limbs. Meditation to begin and end as we honor apex stillness.
JOIN US FOR A WINTER SOLSTICE community gathering and cacao circle. Shala teachers will be holding space, offering songs, prayers, meditations, poetry and other creative expressions while we share cacao and set some personal intentions for the upcoming year. Attendees/students/community members are also invited to share an inspirational offering of their own (3-5 minutes length) or simply join in on the gathering and enjoy being in community. We look forward to celebrating the winter solstice together!
Join Ash and Dom for a special candle lit yoga class to close out the year. We will move in reflection on 2025 and light the way for 2026.
