Alba started taking yoga classes in 2007 as a way to wind down from the demands of a career in finance. She quickly noticed that yoga was more than just a workout or an opportunity to stretch after she started seeing the mental and emotional benefits from her practice. Over the years, Alba integrated yoga and meditation into her daily life and this inspired her to take Yoga Vida’s 200-hour teacher training in 2018. Her curiosity, quest to dive deeper, and interest in Ashtanga led her to The Shala, where she completed her 300-hour teacher training in 2019.
In her classes, Alba hopes to make yoga accessible and a place where students feel welcomed and encouraged to be their genuine selves. She aims to incorporate breath and restorative elements when teaching vinyasa based classes.
Alba was born in Mexico, is fluent in Spanish and on most weekends, she can be found cooking her favorite Mexican dishes. She enjoys her career in finance and continues to immerse herself in the spiritual teachings of yoga. Alba grew up in Michigan and has lived in Chicago, Dallas and most recently New York.
